Recommendation: The Evpatoria Report (post rock)

I have something to report...

While not original or breaking through any previous notions of the genre, swiss post-rock group The Evpatoria Report executes the style very well and with stunning melodies.

Both Golevka and Maar contain epic and lengthy pieces that contain heaviness and majesty, build-up and climax, fragility and determination, cinematic soundscapes and also intimate settings. I also like their (occasional) use of keyboards and violin to add tenderness and an additional layer of beauty to the compositions.

These two albums are perfect whenever I want post rock that has that grand sound and volume that one finds in others such as Mono or Godspeed You Black Emperor!.
